Quite a bit, actually, but they'll play hardball with individual clients. When my Corolla was stolen, I got my insurance broker to do the dirty work and came out with a number close to 20% higher than their original insult.
Edit: Although that car was also pretty new, literally a few months off-lease. Might be different for an older car. |

i have not ever seen the actual policy in like 10 years. every year they send me a one page document that tells me what coverage i have and what premium i pay for each thing. granted i have probably received the big book descibing the policy but i have been driving for close to 15 years. i have moved 50 million times, i do not have the copy of the original papers. plus i doubt that there is an exact description to what happens when the tow company takes the vehicle all over town to increase the charges.
plus, i know these two guys post on here so it's just easier to ask.
and also now everyone that read this will also know. i don't understand the hatin' on a thread that is both useful to me and informative to others.
i stand by my decision to make the thread. pfffft. :P :) |

you can request the tires and most likely they will just make a deduction in the final settlement amount. |

That document is really fun to read.
I didn't know that they had to specifically say that damage is covered if you vehicle is hit by missiles. I mean you probably have more things to worry about than your car if that's happening. |

Margs... a missile is any projectile while in the air... so when a stone flies off of a dump truck... that's a missile. |

Indeed... it's redundant in order to cover differences in interpretation... is an object flying if it is not under it's own power?... is a bullet a flying object or a missile, since it's being propelled by an external force?... by including missile it eliminates such questions. Just like how a homeowner's policy will exclude fungus, spores, and mould despite mould being a fungus. |
