Have I blown my speakers?

Not being much of a bright spark, I seem to have ed my speakers last night..

I was fannying around with one of my monitors (m-audio bxa8's) and i went and slid the voltage setting along to the U.S. setting instead of uk while it was switched on and the whole speaker then turned itself off, don't really know why i thought doing this would fix the issues I had with the speaker in the first place. Tried to change the fuse etc but nothing has worked..

Is it new speaker time, or is there anything I can do to fix it.. T

You've probably not blown the speaker, but you've probably ed the power supply for the amp...... I'm assuming they must be active speakers.

Might not be that expensive to fix, but for now it will be unusable.

Try telling them you don't know what happened "they just stoppped working". Obviously flick the switch back to UK 240v first.

The transformer is probably the culprit but the amp could have popped too.

I did a similar thing with a CDJ once. It would just be a fuse or transformer blown; it should be fairly easy to repair.
