I think there is confusion in this thread between Classic Trance and just classic trance. Classic Trance has become a sub-genre tag in its own right, denoting the early 90s German trance sound, without which no other trance music would exist today. Classic trance is just trance which has been described as classic.
Of course, any classics thread on TA usually demonstrates that people are unable to distinguish between what is a classic to them and what the wider world might regard as a classic. This means that just about every trance record ever made has been dubbed a "classic" on TA at one point or another.
There is also the question of age. It's very rare that something can become an instant classic. The very word has connotations of age and history. The funny thing is that when I started posting on TA in 2003 people were already calling tracks from '99 classic, and yet in 2009 most of us still find it uncomfortable to refer to tracks from 2002 as classics. |

while the peak of trance maybe during the epic sounding trance, it doesn't mean it's the classic. |

Ahaha I love how people love to throw in this old crap in. The peak of trance was in 1999-2001, not in the early 90s like some of you want to make everyone else believe. Simply put, most trance years before that was boring, dull and too hypnotic for it's own good. That track is a classic example of a boring track which people like you want to make look like it's the "real classic trance" when it fact it's just old. Just because something is old doesn't automatically make it better than something new. |
