Hi there,
I've been looking at fm lately and managed to get hold of a book called "Fm Theory and Applications: By Musicians for Musicians" it's pretty old but alot of ppl seem to think its good. I've only been through a couple chapters but i tend to agree Of course it doesn't cover Operator(That would be weird!LOL) but the same principles apply |

Operator is an incredibly easy synth to use. I would recommend a brief read on the theory of FM synthesis (the Wikipedia page will do), then check out youtube and the rest of the internet as there are some good tutorials out there, then finally, just have a play, see what happens, that's where the fun is.
And I think JBJ has a link for an FM synthesis guide, but I currently can't find it, anyone help me out? |

| thanks guys - was working with it more last night and think it could be a weapon in my arsenal of synths that I've completely overlooked. I was getting some proper twisted basslines out of it, minor tweaks make so much of a diff but this is sound engineering at it;s best. |
