would have liked to catch Voorn this past weekend. Never heard the guy, but the buzz on his is amazing.

Oh, and Connie opened too...:disbelief

Dettman was a ing boss! none of the housey organic or glitchy minimal stuff. just straight head pounding techno all night! his style really stays true to more traditional techno, while remaining modern and progressive. set felt very industrial at times.. like what you'd expect when you think 'techno'. he kept the bpm fairly high and the bass was heavy all night. I felt much more engaged than I did at Hawtin's set at Love the weekend before. Move D was awesome as well. totally different vibe from the room where Dettman was spinning. i don't even like house that much but the tracks he dropped were really inspired. definitely the some of the hardest techno-sounding house i've heard without actually being techno. the residents spun their assess off as well. Adultnapper and a bunch of usual suspects from Resolute and Bar 13 were around. saw Pete (fotoaddict) around as well, minus the camera. was pretty fun night. the Bunker never disappoints :) . my only complaint was that Dettman's set was a bit overwhelming and I was pretty beat by 5. I'm kinda sorry I couldn't catch Voorn @ Cielo. Haven't seen him since he spun there with Chris Liebing and The Robots at their final show a couple years back. did anyone here go?

I didn't go - sadly. I love Voorn but I did catch him in Miami @ SSFD for a wee bit.

I wish I could have gone but I completely forgot and I just think Voorn live > dj set.

I remember that night when he opened up for Liebing but man - opening for Chris is not a good position to be in. It doesn't show his true style.

If it's ever a Voorn *live* set - you bet your ass I will be there. *hopes for electric zoo*

sucks i completely forgot about voorn. !

-i cry because i see he played his remix of Dark Flower.. o well we heard him play it live at DEMF - such a sick, sick, sick tune!-

I went. I knew pretty much no one there, although I know there were rhythmism people there that I've never met before.

Voorn was significantly better than he was for that Robots party, which was the first time I'd ever seen him and he bored me. I haven't heard his Balance CD, but he played a lot housier than I expected. I missed most of Connie's set because my parents were in town and I was entertaining them until they went to bed, so I didn't get there until about 12:45.
