The Black Eyed Peas are facing legal action from British DJ Adam Freeland - he has accused the band of copying one of his songs.

Freeland claims the group used the beat from his track Mancry in Party All the Time, which featured on their latest record The E.N.D.

The star has taken to his Twitter.com page to express his outrage - alleging the Black Eyed Peas track sampled his work without permission.

He writes, "OK. Check this. Listen to our song 'Mancry'. Now listen to Black Eyed Peas 'Party all the time' WTF! (What the f**k!)"

Although Freeland has yet to take legal action against the band, lawyers for both sides have been in contact, according to DailySwarm.com.

Black Eyed Peas star will.i.am was previously mired in controversy over samples used in his solo work - in 2007 he was forced to drop an excerpt from Daft Punk's Around in the World from his I Got it From My Momma track by the French duo's lawyers.

OMG! Someone sampled and ripped off another persons idea?? WTF is this music world coming too????? :wtf: :wtf: :wtf:
Silky Johnson
I think the point is that the samples weren't cleared by the "original" artists.

Not to in anyone's Corn Flakes, but that's just a chorded saw pad with some distortion on it. Same notes / effects / chords, yes but I can't see Adam Freeland getting much out of this save some publicity and a small settlement.

I would assume that's all he wants. Just give proper credit for the sample and/or pay some trivial royalty.

The Black Eyed Peas, one of the most successful recording band, will be making a tribute to Michael Jackson at the Isle of MTV concert tonight.

"It will happen, I am hurt by his passing. I was blessed by working with him, becoming a friend, with his family, kids and caretakers," said band member will.i.am.

"It feels good to be here, we did not know there was so much history, pardon my ignorance for not knowing," he added when when asked about Malta. "It's a great place, with great people, and the women are beautiful," he said.

Lead singer Fergie revealed that her wardrobe stylist is actually Maltese, Chris Psaila.

The diminutive but stunning singer was flattered by compliments about her physique during the press conference. She said she read so many bad things about her, that this was nice to hear.

Fergie said it was hard to maintain her health regime when on the road. Back home she has a trainer and is on the game, she said, using a meal delivery service called Diet Designer, which, she lamented, was not available everywhere.

"Yesterday I ordered a pizza from the hotel and a Kit Kat from the Mini Bar, she said about her "pig-out night".

The band reacted to an accusation of plagiarism, with Party All The Time said to have the beginning of Man Cry.

They explained that this was not a case of plagiarism, in that the band's manager had offered them a beat and it was a case of working together.

"It was a lack of finalising legalities before releasing the record, clearance was not done and that was what it was about."

Asked how they chose their name they joked about having thrown names in the air like Tomato Paste and celery before coming up with the Black Eyes Peas which is a soulful dish that brings families together and has brought them good luck.

apl.de.ap said the band viewed internet and mobile telephony as the future of the music industry within the next four years.

"It is a one to-one-form of communication, and one-to-many," he said.

the album has been released for a while already. they had plenty of time to "finalize" the legalities but did not. they were geeving about it and probably hoped people wouldnt notice.
