I'm glad some people aren't jumping on the deep house bandwagon...
Mark Henning doing what he does best...

Well, all the deep house guys jumped on the profitable minimal-wagon long ago, so the way I see it he simply took a shortcut. Too bad. This sounds to me as a load of harsh, cheap for-profit digital noise. |

The individual sentences make sense, but not when he puts them all together. |

Haha. Nice turn on the discussion. I simply did not like it. Not my style, and I don't like the fact that what used to be the "deep house bandwagon" is now the "minimal bandwagon".....in my opinion, that is. If that doesn't make sense to you, then I am sorry.
Now that you mention it, though, I could use an English class or two ;)
Enjoy your music, guys! |

Deep House really does not have much of a bandwagon yet, we don't have a buncha marketers and media hyping every single big Deep House release yet, like they did for Minimal, lets wait for that before the bandwagon starts going. Deep House is just existing like it always has, but because some DJs and listeners have gotten bored of Minimal, they've comfortably transitioned to a Deep House sound. But I dont think there is enough noise being made about Deep House for a bandwagon, ie a large % of producers, djs, listeners jumping on to ride Deep House. I think we will continue to see more democratization of the genres, and more eclecticism from DJs and Producers, as education and experience rises about electronic music by all involved, many genres cyclicly get popular and then compress back to place, and fall and rise again, faster than ever. It is great for everyone the way things are going in Electronic Dance Music at the moment and perhaps for the forseeable future. |

Uh everyone and their mother is making "deep house" now, or attempting to, there is a HUGE bandwagon. The number of european producers making house or throwing bongos and rather organic sounding percs into their tracks has skyrocketed.
Pretty easy to see if you shop at beatport regularly.
Anyways I don't mind it, no matter what the genre good music is good music, but I like it when people stick to what they do best instead of just making something to fit in because its popular, and these Henning tracks are a prime example of a guy working his forte with a great result. |
