Convention 101 is smart, I think the issue with just naming it Convention would make it hard to distinguish itself from other things named Convention or have Convention in their title. So it has to have something alongside it, i'm not a lawyer but im guesssing there may even be trademark issues with naming it solely Convention. Also the word Convention into a search engine would bring up 1000s of things before this event, so you kinda have to add the subname for that reason as well. If I had a say, i'd work another detailing word or words after or before Convention, and then the series number. Maybe Electronic Music Convention 101. Folks will be like, "You goin to EMC 101 this year?" "Yah, dude fer sure i'm goin to EMC."
Unless, you guys want to go the Coachella route and turn it into a Rock and Hip Hop show with Electronic music on the side. But even if you did mix in some Rock and Hip Hop, you could add acts that have an Electronic Music focus, so EMC would still work. |

Purchase of this ticket also gives you free admission to the Convention Pre-Party on Friday featuring Joel Mull, Sean Palm, Matt Xavier in Hollywood, CA. Location Details TBA.
++ GOLD VIP (3 Day Pass)
FRIDAY, SATURDAY, & SUNDAY ADMISSION: VIP section area for 150 people at Saturday's event. Private bathrooms, dedicated bar, and premier view of the main Compression stage. GOLD VIP Ticket also provides you admission to the exclusive after party at the Standard Hotel, downtown LA featuring Wighnomy Brothers, Jamie Jones, w/ more TBA. This VIP after party takes place on Sunday, 9-20-09 from 1 p.m. - 9 p.m. The Sunday VIP after party is private and has extremely limited access so purchase of GOLD VIP tickets are highly recommended if you want access to all three days of CONVENTION.
IMPORTANT NOTE FOR SUNDAY AFTERPARTY: GOLD VIP entrance for Sunday VIP After Party is ONLY guaranteed between 1 p.m. - 3 p.m. on Sunday. If you arrive after 3 p.m. the hotel has discretion on capacity management and you will have to wait in line until capacity frees up for regular entry.
