| Nice pics! Just saw this post. Thanks for taking the time and taking these. I've went to the protests a couple times. LA Iranians have said they will be there every day until there is change. |

I saw a few twitter updates from you, but this was the largest and most number of flags i've seen.
Why do so many protests/peace gatherings go on in front of the Federal Bldg.. like this is some sort of epicenter?? The people that work in that bldg probably get annoyed because they all have boring office jobs. |

Were these pics taken on the 9th? If so, that was a big day because 10 years ago on that date, students protested in Iran and there was much bloodshed.
I've been in that building once. The top floors belong to the FBI and you must have a card to enter the elevators that go up there.
I figure they go there because they can. "Public Forum" space. LA Sheriff's Department is smart enough to put a couple of Persian Deputy's to keep the peace.
As you said, for the most part it is peaceful. The only issue I heard of was a group of UCLA Iranians who did not like the fact that people are showing off the pre-revolution flag (the one with the lion). As you can see most of the people at the Federal Building are pro-Shah supporters. I went to a protest @ Sherman Oaks Galleria in which students organized and made a rule not to bring any flags. (I hate it when people try to tell you how to protest) |

Yes, that was the 9th...
I see I see. Sorry, didn't brush up on my flag or history, very interesting.

Right To Dance (RTD) was a great protest against the LAPD busts of raves and undergrounds back in 1997 @ The Federal Building. Did anyone go? Got pics? Lawrence, Oscure, Electric Skychurch, and a few other really good acts played. The Tonka sound system was bangin'. There was an 80 year old grandpa up on stage dancing and he got on the mic and said, "I'm 80 years old and I love to DANCE."
