SUBSTANCE - AUGUST EDITION!

The substance crew have awoken from their winter hibernation to plan and deliver a mid winter party that will warm the cockles of your awesomeness. After Travis Lucas single handedly destroyed the dancefloor at our last event we thought it fitting to raise the bar and invite our friend and local trance superstar TRENT MCDERMOTT. Having an integral involvement in Trance Energy 2009, Trent of late has seen his career gallop into the forefront, being booked for such parties as Gategrasher and Martin Roth and SHOKK. His production skills leave nothing to chance and everything to the imagination, his release 'LED' being an integral theme for the Australian trance scene this year. Propped and locked, ready to deliver his set is sure to destroy the place.
Not to be outdone we have invited Substance's long time DJ swapper, LOKI. Having had his hand in the scene for a number of years and running the successful "Unstable Sounds" parties and numerous events in Ballarat, we can hardly contain our excitement at having him reap anarchy all over our console.
Following on, our next guest is a long time visitor of the Substance massif and it is with "hands in the air" we welcome BLINKY back for his first MAIN ROOM PERFORMANCE at our new home. Having recently shifted pardigms in his production; the rest of the world seems to be taking notice - on Beatport.com he recently featured in numerous "Featured DJ top 10's" most notably Dubfire's. Along with his net label, Beatgeek, releasing countless Aussie produced mega tracks, this boy is surely set to smash the absolute out of Highlander.
And last, but definately not least, we welcome two newcomers to the fold - Hendo and Pantysnort. Both relatively new to the scene, these boys show exceptional technical skills and play some of the most upfront prog, house and tech that is on offer. No doubt these boys will be bringing something very special to Substance!
And as per-usual the regular residents featuring Taran M, J-Slyde, Rich OK, Simon Murphy, Denham Jay and Mouka, will also be in tow.
Drinks specials and free selected entry this night will also be on the menu!

Hendo
Originally cutting his teeth on the New Zealand dance scene, Hendo aka (Naish) has been spinning for a mixture of tech/progressive for the last 7 years. Hosting one of New Zealands only purely progressive radio shows and throwing his own brand of underground parties he is defnitely no stranger to the world of electronic music. Not being confined to one genre, expect to hear a mixture of tech house, techno and progressive drawing inspiration from artists such as Joris Voorn, Sven Vath, John Digweed and Lee Burridge to name a few.

Next on the list, we're very excited to welcome Unstable Sounds front man....
LOKI
Loki's calling began when he started DJing psy-trance in 2006. Rapidly establishing a presence in the scene, his hard-hitting full-on psy-trance found him with residencies for the likes of Bass Australia, Synchronicity & BTR. After discovering progressive psy-trance and re-discovering techno, Loki quickly transformed into something more distinctive and took up a weekly residency for StarGarden, showing the masses how deep the rabbit hole really goes!
Loki now finds himself gracing stages all around Australia, supporting internationals and locals alike. With his passion for anything techno and progressive, Loki started a crew of like-minded individuals called 'Unstable Sounds', providing a FREE monthly event featuring Australia’s greatest DJ’s delivering there own unique sounds. Fast becoming one of the CBD’s finest monthly events.
Supplying a fusion of techno, progressive, acid and psychedelica, Loki's sound is deep, dark and twisted, yet infused by a funky, tribal, bush weave unlike any other! Every performance taking the audience on a journey to the extremities and back!

With a keen ear for music and a stage presence like few before him, Trent has left lasting impressions on punters Australia wide with his unique blend of trance and progressive. Having supported the world’s biggest names from Paul Van Dyk & Carl Cox to Tiesto, who Trent played support for on all 4 sold out shows on his recent "Elements Of Life" tour. It’s a testament to the high regard that this DJ is held in. If playing at the history making Sensation event on New Year’s Eve wasn't enough, Trent was also invited to join the Trance Energy national tour in April in which he also completed mixing duties on their ever popular CD compilation which has sold overwhelmingly well making an impact on the Aria Dance Charts. On the production front, Trent is just as busy. Remixing for the likes of Rank 1 on the 2009 Trance Energy Anthem, L.E.D. There Be Light along side Australia's number 1 DJ tyDi and also releasing a string of releases on local label 405 Recording add to that a monthly podcast "Memiors Of A Podcast" avalable thru iTunes and one could say there is no rest for the wicked.
