I found out that if I try and play a song I made on my old hard drive that it sounds distorted. Also, on my old hard drive I wasn't able to listen to music from anything else when fruity loops was open. On my new one I can. You can always try to switch off any unused effects in FL to gain some performance (Check the macro's -> smart disable).
