Armin van Buuren pays tribute to Micheal Jackson!! (pg. 7)

I don't think he would of won anyway...

He plays one of his familiar trakcs, heard that loads.
Plays a trance remix, people say hes sticking to the same formula.
Plays an older more obscure track and people think Armin is just trying to be different.

Should of probably done nothing.

Although.... I do agree with peoples posts on here, ASOT is stale, and always follows the same formula and ends up being ridiculously boring. I remember listening to PVD on Radio 1 and thinking WTF.. but at the start it was actually quite different, well mixed and a breath of fresh air. Also an MJ mash up in there..

The start of the tracklist is below >

01. Wombats - Let’s Dance To Joy Division
02. Ting Tings - That’s Not My Name
03. Kate Nash - Foundation
04. Coldplay - Viva La Vida
05. British Sea Power - Waving Flags
06. Gorillaz - Feel Good Inc.
07. Katy Perry - Hot & Cold
08. U2 - Beautiful Day
09. Duffy - Mercy + Eric Prydz - Pjanoo [Sample]
10. Indeep - Last Night A DJ Saved My Life vs. Michael Jackson - Billy Jean vs. New Order - Blue Monday

Still, could another remix of a MJ track in a different genry then be considered as a tribute in your opinion?

That would depend on the outcome, but generally these things seem a bit false to me. Someone dies and suddenly all these "tributes" start popping out. Why didn't anyone pay tribute to him when he was alive?

They did...in 2001, to a completely sold out Madison Square Garden :p

Of course, it's more profitable to do so now. Have you listened to the Thriller remixes that already worked their way into the Beatport Top 10? :stongue:

Then people say:"Why a tribute, he's still alive."

We can not judge whether a tribute is done for the right reasons, like respect or being a fan.
But since many people loved MJ's music, many tributes can be expected. Of course also many tributes probably are false, but personally I don't really mind as long I don't see or hear to many of them.
