Indeed.
The Air France crash back in early June got the media all in a frenzy and they are all too quick to leap on anything out of the ordinary when it comes to aircraft incidents.
If you take a look at a website that lists major airline incidents for the last few years you'll see what is happening in 2009 is no different, or more frequent, from normal. Most of the incidents are restricted to second and third world airlines with aircraft reported to be in either poor state of maintenance (Yemenia A310), or known aircraft with issues (Tupolev 154). |

precisely. A lot of these planes are banned from flying into european cities but until the standards are lifted worldwide, accidents will happen. However what I do like is how each time there's an incident, they learn quickly from it. |
