eh, idk. You raised 4 X the BB preflop with a small suited connector. I personally like that play.
On the flop, you can't possibly put that guy on a hand with a 5 in it, considering the flop and the fact that you held a 5 yourself. But his checks and calls on every street were suspicious to me. I probably would have just called the river bet on the end instead of raising it.
To be honest though, I'm not sure what he was even doing in the hand to begin with...calling from early position with a weak, offsuit Ace is dumb. Calling your raise is even more retarded. The guy just got lucky really. |

| My cash game philosophy is never slow play. I am mad at myself for not betting flop and then the rr on rvr shouldn't have happened. However, if i had bet the flop, and he continued to slow play (check call) I bet he would have pushed rvr (the pot would have been significantly bigger had there been flop bets) when the A hit, and then I would have called any way. End of the day, my money gets in and I lose. However, I wouldn't be mad at myself for going against my own personal cash game philosophy |

This Friday wouldn't work for me. None of the NYC parties grab me. Plus, I have to work for a little bit on Saturday.
But now that I am hearing how much poker you guys play, I think I'm better sitting it out anyway. I don't think I could last longer than 30 minutes in a live game. :( |

I can't stand tourneys, horrible play occurs and rivers suck, suddenly hours are wasted and you can't just rebuy with the knowledge that you will take your money back from a huge donkey.

Based on the way the hand played out, I don't think he would have gotten away from the hand at any point. He had top pair, top kicker on the flop, and thats usually good enough for most of these stiffs to go all the way with.
Some hands you're just destined to lose... I would have played the hand the same way though. Actually, I take that back. I don't think I would have raised with 33 from ealy position preflop. ;) |

| ^^ Correction...i didn't reraised, i raised 3x, he minraised, i called. However, i do sometimes like reraising small pockets...even in early position because it's one of those hands..ether you hit or you don't. And a reraise pre confirms an exponentially larger pot later |

Oh, I definitely raise with small pocket pairs as well, but just not usually from early position. I just really want to see the flop as cheaply as possible. If you get reraised, you usully have to throw them away. In your case, the guy just min-raised. Unlucky hand either way. |

| I'd be willing to host a game friday night, but one problem is I dont have a real poker table...but I do have a rectangular Ikea table that can probably work that can prob handle 8 players. |
