Salt Tank - Dimension voices of reason mix
Taste Experience - Summersault
Sasha & Darren Emerson - Scorchio
Paul Van Dyk - Today trance ambient mix

Hey, I'm looking for modern day equivelants of older stuff like the above tracks. Laid back, layered, progressive, feel-good stuff. What genre would you say these fit into? Some ideas would be great thanks as I've been out the scene for a few years.

You mean tracks with actual melody?
Why look for such a dated sound?

Get with the times and understand that now-days it is all about dull minimal.
Hit Clovis up he will tell you all about the new trendy sound you should embrace and give you suggestions about the great tiny kick plus water-drop hipster tracks of today.

Haha I know most of what I hear on the radio is like you describe but surely there must be some good hidden out there? Someone must be producing this?

I reccomend the gareth emery podcast

I have trouble finding "laid back" feel though, maybe because I like hyperness too much, maybe something housey yet still melodic, hmmmm

hernan cattaneo? close but not quite the same sound
ummmm, steve porter, john b when is isn't operating in DnB mode

argh none of those quite cut it do they
MichaelBoogerd!

There is nothing today that sounds remotely anything close to the type of music you're searching for.

unless you count all of the old salt tank productions that are getting released this past month? :)
Zombie0915
probably way off target, but maybe the kahvi netlabel, you might like those a bit.

They arent quite dancey enough though, grrr this is annoying me
BOBFOB
Thanks for the replies. :)

Some of the suggestions are a little like what I'm after so maybe I'll just need to have a bit of a tunespotting session investigating a bit further downloading mixes and hopefully finding stuff I like.
