these pointless remakes to me is one of the factors that is killing trance...seems like every few weeks theres a new remake of an old song
|
trance ran out of creative ideas a long time ago.
hence why you get all these new remixes of classics, because the producers can't think of anything original enough to put their mark on
doesn't help that the herd of sheep that is most of trance fans can't differentiate between the repetitive crap that's being pounded |

the original is one of my favourite MIKE tunes. This remix was totally pointless. But I guess it's also a product of it's time. This would never had been released a couple of years ago. But since it's the era of digital downloads producers can remake any tune for web stores. The administrational costs for the labels are minimal and no money are spent on pressing. |
one of my all time favourite MIKE tracks as well :D
total unnecessary remix from Gareth Emery; I still prefer the original. Normally there will also be a new MIKE version of this track but I haven't heard it for now |

I like Gareth and I like M.I.K.E. and I realize that recycling is common but I much rather hear new stuff and see more creativity than see these artists banking yet again off of something they released back in the day with a slightly new twist on it.
Yea, its great for the newbies who have prob never heard the original and can vibe to it, but for the people who are in the know it gets kinda old. It seems like this recycling trend is gaining even more popularity in 2009. Thus far I've seen a lot of re-releases that were better left alone. |

I see three main reasons why all the new remixes are coming out
1. To get back in touch with old trance fans who know their classics. Since they can't make anything as good as the old stuff
2. Quick claim to fame
3. The n00bs that don't know their classics hears the new remixes, and thinking it's good without realizing that they are listening to a classic remix. Because the classics are classics for a reason; they are great tunes. So the n00bs think it's 'fresh' and all good |

Never really been a fan of this consant obsession of remixing classics. Just let them be already!
Although, this one was pretty good. |

I really don't like this new take. The melody just isn't there and true to the old Sunrise. |
