With singles and remixes on more than a dozen labels over the last decade,
Robb G made a name for himself in the underground circles long ago. This
lengthy experience in making noise is apparent when listening to his first
full length album. It oozes with variety while continually beating you into
moving your feet. Far from an armchair LP, this is music to gyrate to. The
album which is aptly titled Shufflebanger, is as much prime time music for
the fist pumping masses on the festival circuit as it is the ideal
soundtrack for a night bumping rumps in a back alley after-hours.
Shufflebanger goes from dirty thumping electro to funky beats and big room
breaks to gritty bass driven tech house, all fused with an undeniable
energy. The intensity of the disc makes perfect sense if you've seen him
live, as Robb G is literally "in" the music when he's on stage, dripping
with sweat as he screams at the crowd, possessed by the music while he
throbs in a head banging body thrash.
