[mix] Robotic - Full Moon Spectacle // Oldskool Goa Mix
View this Thread in Original format
robotic
hi there.... here's my first recorded goa mix in about 10 years. featuring mostly old stuff of course. but all very influential and personal to me. some of you might be upset at the inclusion of 'infected mushroom - noise maker' and 'xerox - frequency drive', but both of those are immense tunes and just happened to fit right in the mix, so there ya go... enjoy! Just wanted to say thanks for playing Xerox - Frequency Drive. Turns out I've been looking for it for six years :D It was the final un-IDed track in J00fs Elevate 2003 set.

yes yes... thanks for checking this out everybody! i have been blasting this mix in the car lately... works like a charm on the autobahn! ;) i can upload the cd-burnable two-disc version with cue files for anyone - like myself - with an oldschool (non-mp3) cd player in their car. lemme know.... :)

edit: @The_Chris - yes, title track of xerox's debut album is an immense one. doesnt quite fit with the 'oldschool goa' vibe, but it works perfectly for putting a HUGE kick and bassline under some older tune (like the sandman or the astral projection ones in the mix hehe). ;)

Berlin, aye? :D Let's get it on...

Here is my review:

Starts nicely with the ambient remix of Angelic Particles and I like that it doesn't go off with the full track of it since its long. Around 2 min in we are in some good goa sound.

Mixing is good as far as good mixing can be when mixing old goa tracks. I like it, the pace is never lost, nor is the flow which is the main point. I like how you push the tempo throughout the mix, a bit noticeable but still I like it.

What was not a good point for me is the tracklist. Well, probably for those who are not into goa trance this would rock but I know 95% of these tracks and nothing new hit me while listening. Ofc, the tracks are awesome but still I needed something new to me. That is not necessarily bad but for experienced and long-time lover of goa it was a bit disappointing. The energy by the tracks however made up for it! :)

Also, I noticed a mistake in your tracklist. The Doof track is not the Tuned In Mix, its the original one. The Tuned In Mix is probably one of the most hypnotizing tracks ever created, you should use it in your next mix! Cheers for the good set, I liked it very much, expecting new ones! :)
