It looks like a good option for beginners but I'd rather just man-up and buy the audio4. That way I can use it for production too with the outputs AND inputs.
palm

cheaper than an apogee and it probably sounds as good if not better. I love my audio 8, great card

I'm more partial to timecode, but for anybody that works with MIDI controllers this is a big deal. Something that always turned me off about the VCI-100 was that I couldn't find a soundcard for it that I liked. This is the perfect option especially if a bundle comes along.

Got Crack?

The NI soundcards are no where near even Apoggee's entry level offering (Duet) in terms of quality, and are certainly no where near as stable.

It's just a decent quality soundcard made to work with proprietary software but certainly not in the league of professional grade studio equipment.

Have you seen the size of this thing though, it's about the length and width of an Ipod but about a deck and half deep in cards.

If you can even imagine that haha..

I thought it was big as the picture

If you had watched the video you would have noticed it's much smaller.

Correct. As with everything from NI, you have a 40% chance of never experiencing an issue with it. They are not the most stable soundcards but for the price they are good (entry level).
