I refuse to say thank you to people when they say this, I am not sure why. I just do not feel comfortable saying thanks for something I do not believe in.
I was talking to someone just now on the phone and I sneezed and they said "Bless You" and I said nothing and they got offended.
Is this rude on my part? I did not ask them to say anything?
I ended up saying "Thank you for your concern." I figure that does not recognize the part I do not believe in but does recognize the kind intentions of the person.
I will say thanks if someone says "Gesundheit" though. |

nah, if someone sneezes i rarely say bless you- sometimes they get butt hurt.
or sometimes i sneeze followed by the bless and i don't reply but if its an elder ill prlly be nice and say thnx.
i think sooner or later that will die off. |

its a little known fact that im a rampaging atheist, and i do not associate someone saying 'bless you' post-sneeze with anything even remotely religious.
then again, im not surrounded by crazy christian soldiers on a daily basis. |

Funny you mention that because when someone sneezes in my presence i actually say "butt hurt!".. funny habit i picked up..
everyone should drink BEFORE they head out at night.. like u did back at high school remember? good times... good times.
