 Today, I bought my first MicroSD memory card ever. I had just purchased a new mobile phone (Nokia 3120) and needed some extra memory, so I decided to just get the damn thing. The moment I saw the tiny card, I didn't believe my eyes. It was a minute chip, full of gigabytes. My computer that died a few weeks ago had a 4gb hard disk drive, and it was infinitely bigger than this. I mean, look at that!

As you can see on the right, the guy with the broken fleshlight can go on and swallow these cards as well for dessert (and he'll be none the wiser, that's true, but it's not like he's going to die from ingesting it, as opposed to eating my old hdd).
Now, isn't technology awesome? It all changed in a matter of just a few years... I can't even imagine what will be around in a decade or so!
That being said, this thread is about how amazing it is to live in our age. w00t! Has any gadget made you feel like that lately? |

Edit: And no Lira, happiness doesn't come from neat little gadgets, it comes from yourself. You would have felt the same way 10.000 years ago about finding a great new firestone. ;) |

Technology makes me very hopeful.
I read a New Scientist magazine earlier this week, which I haven't done for a few years, and it (that publication) always amazes me with what the human race is producing and how far we will advance in the next decade. It almost makes up for the boundless stupidity you hear of daily (people suing each other over frivolities, et cetera). |
