hmm... i just listened to half of the first CD, and not liking it at all... it sounds very lounge-y, very tame, i dont feel any buildup and im definitely not getting pumped up listening to it. in short, i was quite bored... maybe ill give the other CDs a try... |

That set is massive+awesome. I'd say hes more of a Dark Deep Tech House DJ...he plays the best of Techno and House, with some Dark Tribal and Prog laced in, he is a cherry picker. You can't ever go wrong by going to a Behrouz show if you want dance, journey, feel things, and trip, easily top 10 DJ in the world for me. |

hmmm i dunno... i was completely sober listening to that of course, so maybe thats why i was bored, but thats reaching a little i think. i expected to get flashbacks and dreamy and excited like when i listen to Ferry or ASOT. i didnt get any of that listening to Behrouz. i was just... bored...
well, i got that guest list so I hope its good and i get in for free. ill give it a try for a bit before i bounce and decide to go to see Lange or to Temple or somewhere else :) |

well if you're a fan of asot and ferry, then honestly, i doubt you have the temperament to enjoy deep or tech house at this point, which is what this mix sounds like. it is an acquired appreciation of more subtle, more challenging electronic music where most trance fans are at the very beginning of edm appreciation. with any luck you'll begin to notice the monotony and stagnation of the trance genre and look outward to other more creative sounds. somewhere along the line you may develop a liking for this stuff. but i think lee burridge put it best:
" i like it when people appreciate the music i play because i think a lot of the music i play is a little bit challenging and a lot of the people that go out are younger and don't understand and don't need challenging, they just need it fed to them easily, you know, which is why trance is still king. it's a great night out, but it's instant, it's dramatic, and it suits being high or drunk or straight, you know, whatever condition you're in there's no need to understand or no journey you need to take from point a to point b in regards to music. "
that all said, behrouz's set at mission rock was way harder, darker, heavier, proggier. i hope he plays more like that tomorrow. |

| eh i take no offense to that, clovis has great taste in music and is mature beyond his age in how fast he went from trance to where he is now. but truth be told, clovis would never invest so many words into such a post, he would probably just laugh. also clovis thinks all trance these days is crap, i just think a huge majority of it is :p |

yeah you're probably right. Behrouz sounds like an acquired taste. like i said ill give him a try tomorrow (assuming i get in for free with the guest list) before passing final judgement. |
