Car Dealer Offers AK-47 With Purchase

Last year, we wrote about Max Motors, the car dealership in Butler, Mo., that offered buyers the option of getting a $250 coupon for gas or a $250 coupon for a handgun (most chose the handgun). Now Max Motors is offering vouchers for AK-47s.
“Max Motors is giving away an AK-47 with every truck purchase!!!” says the promotion on the dealership’s Web site. In reality, it’s providing a voucher that can be used at an area gun store, According to Mark Muller, the owner of Max Motors, in an interview with CNN (via Slashdot), an AK-47 can cost $450 to $500.
Mr. Muller added that the dealership sold around 35 more cars last year with the handgun promotion. And he said he hoped to sell 100 trucks with the new promotion.
You know, there are things I understand, and there are things I don't. The handgun was bizarre enough, but a deluded person might imagine they could use it for protection during their long trips across the country... and, what do you know, it may be occasionally useful for that purpose. But, an AK-47!?

This kind of thing has been happening for so long in that ridiculous excuse for a country that I'm no longer surprised.
