I'm torn between 2 compact cameras.
I've had the Canon Ixus 40 in the past, and currently use an Ixus 70.
Needs:
Good low-light video and picture handling for club stuff.
General decent image quality.
Wide angle lens.
I've whittled it down to either a Canon SD880IS or a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX48.
Canon Pros:
Established on here as a good club camera, pretty much guaranteed to meet my needs.
Panasonic Pros:
720p 16:9 video recording, Canon only does 640x480.
25mm wide angle compared to the Canon's 28mm.
Thing is, I have no idea on how the FX48 performs as an in-club camera, a 720p video of darkness with distorted bass is pretty pointless.

Don't around, get the Canon 5D Mark II.

| Nope, needs to be a sub-£200 compact :p |

| Doing a bit of research, it seems that people prefer the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX48 over the Canon. You can check more reviews, but neither of them seem to perform well in dark environments. |

Well there is only so much any compact will manage in low light, but there was a big thread with the 880IS being touted as good for clubs. |
