This is a great deal on a great soundbank for Vanguard:
http://soundsdivine.com/vanguard.html
The price is currently $15, but the developer indicated over on KVR that the price will go up to $25 tomorrow (still a good deal IMO). Just thought I'd share! |

Well, you'd have to hear it and decide for yourself. But, IMO it is better than most/all of the free Vanguard banks that I have. Also, it's not really a "trance bank" - it's more diverse than that, which is a nice change of pace. It does a good job of showing that Vanguard is not a "trance-only synth" like many people would have you believe. |

ive played around with vanguard for a while now and ive downloaded a few of these free soundbanks.
But tbh with just abit of playing round with it , you can get some pretty unique sounds.
I personally would urge you to play and not to take the easy route. |

First, there are many people who prefer to do exactly what you (accidentally) wrote - they prefer to spend their time playing, rather than programming sounds - there's nothing wrong with that IMO.
Second, I do play and I program my own sounds - been doing that for almost 30 years. Still, there's absolutely nothing wrong with using a preset(s) in a track, or for inspiration, or for jumping off points to new sounds, etc.
I didn't build my own bass, piano, guitars, trumpets, microphones, etc. either - I took the easy way out and bought high-end gear that would've taken me years to build and still wouldn't have near the quality of professionally designed instruments so that I could focus my time and energy on playing.
You don't have to be a master of everything to be a good musician or producer. |

Sorry , i wasnt actually aiming that at you (accidentally):D, but in general.
Its just that vanguard is so flexible , i wonder why people need presets for it. |

I have a friend who uses Nexus for everything, and I mean EVERYTHING, and to date, not one person has pointed that out to him! And, he gets comments on his songs about how great his sounds are by people who are on record as stating things like "...if you use Nexus, you'll sound like everyone else...", "...you can't change Nexus' sounds...", etc. It's quite hilarious to watch, actually. ;) |

Ye its true , even though nexus is a rompler it is still very flexible.
