So i'm on the way home from my buddy's house minding my own business. A truck pulls up beside me with some drunk dude hanging out the passenger window. i guess the driver didn't see my car and decided it would be ok to change lanes.....with me next to him. i had nowhere to go, so he ended up hitting me. driver side of my car is all dented and scraped up and my mirror is pretty much hanging off. cops came, filed a claim with his and my insurance and gotta take my car to get inspected by one of their people. I really don't need this right now. supposed to be driving up to dallas next monday. i better have my car back. they did say they're gonna get me a rental while mine is in the shop. idk how much the cost for mileage is though.
ANYWAY...i'll have pics when it's light outside. |

If it's an insurance claim, you should have unlimited miles. |

he was back inside when it happened, so i kept it quiet. although they wanted to try and keep the insurance companies out of it, but since that guy was acting like an idiot, i decided to get the insurance companies involved.
I've got an appointment to get it looked at tomorrow morning and hopefully it will go in the shop soon after that. gah...almost 10 years without a ticket or accident and i get both within a month. if this bad luck trend continues...i might sell this car. |

| Got back from getting my estimate. They estimated $1600 worth of damages. now if i could only get the insurance people on the phone, i can get some sleep for a change. but no, they're probably out having their coffee and not paying attention to their phone. |

that's the exact thing i thought when she gave me the estimate. there's no way that's gonna only cost $1600. she was saying they have to replace pretty much all the panels on the door. i'm going to take it to an independent place and get another estimate. i'm thinking it's gonna be more than that. oh well...my part is pretty much done until the other party calls and gives their statement. just gotta play the waiting game now. |

yeah dude I think you got shortchanged on the estimate.
just be glad you didn't get hurt from the accident, being that the accident happened on the driver's side of the car. :p
also depends on what type of insurance you have. there are some pretty crappy insurance companies out there that give you when you get into an accident. |
