| god i can't imagine having any other phone besides the iphone 3g... i've never been so happy with a phone, or any other electronic device for that matter. i'm not even an apple fan and i hate using itunes. there's a reason why everyone compares their latest and greatest smartphones with the iphone, because it's the best. just the sheer number of free apps out there puts so much power in your hand. i have over 70 apps and haven't spent a dime at the app store yet! |

I just got the MyTouch today and it EN ROCKS!!!! The phone is a lot smaller and sleakier than the G1!!! It's freakin' sexy! And, it's also smaller than the iPhone!
Talk about a fast phone! Freakin' FAST!!! So far no complaints. I really liked how I just logged into my Google account and it sync my old G1 to my new MyTouch automatically. No complaints yet.

for those Iphone users... is it true that the 3G & 3GS data packages cost $10 more a month over the original Iphone Data coverage because of the 3G network?
oh yea, and I have a Samsung i760 on Verizon and the bill is around $100 monthly... |

How did you pull that off and how do you like it? |
Work pays for it and I *love* it. Definitely the best BlackBerry to date. A very nice evolution from the 8830. |

The plan was originally 700 mins for 60 a month.
My roommate who is an amazing speaker somehow managed to up our mins to 1000, get mobile to mobile for the same price, and talked her way into getting unlimited 3G data for 6 bucks a month even though they no longer officially offer that deal.
For $20 we both get unlimited text.
We also each pay $6 for unlimited data, although I can't get 3G speeds with my iphone, but my roommate can with her Behold. |

I use to lose my phone so much I couldn't even get it insured nor would companies sell me new phones cheap, so I decided to dump my cell phone at the time and instead have NOTHING.
This was intentional though...to force my work to give me a phone from work, which worked. Had Treo then a Blackberry before being laid off.
I am tired of contracts and all that stuff (plus I'd prob have to pay a deposit with a major provider at this moment) and while I do miss having a browser in my phone from time to time, I didn't use the browser _that_ much so it's not worth the extra cost...so right now, I am happy with my Virgin Mobile XTC (Kyocera phone). It at least has a qwerty keybad for texting and Opera is supposed to come for it (althoguh it's the newer CDMA and not G3).
The big thing I miss though is the Google Maps app I had for my Treo then Blackberry. Especially the Blackberry one.
Anyhow, I am fine with paying $50/month for unlimited everything. I would maybe consider getting an iphone G3 these days if I could get it stupid cheap and if it was on Verizon's network, sicne I know of a place you can go through to get it w/o a credit check.
BTW, if the media would stop sucking Apple's dick and Google polished their stuff first, it can be better than the iphone. I have no doubts. Especially with how fast it is. It really is fast. |

Pay $140 for 2 lines, 1800 minutes and 800 texts split between us and unlimited data.
I have dropped that phone so many times and it still looks cosmetically perfect and works flawlessly. I've done at least three of those drops where I go "oh god, it's a goner for sure now" but it just doesn't blink.
Internet is fast and crisp, the phone is a joy to use (compared to my previous HTC/WM phones) and the apps are great. I use it as may satnav and mini laptop which means I don't have to carry loads of other hardware with me.
the only downside is battery life which is terrible. Using GPS and data means I get a day out of if I'm lucky. If I set it to 2g and turn off the GPS/wifi then it's decent and it's not a problem with a car charger anyway.
Probably the best phone I've had and T-mobile have been great so far (2 years and counting). |
haha, i agree with dropping the phone. i cracked the glass that protects the camera 'cause i put my g1 on my backpocket and my phat ass must have cracked the glass. still takes good pictures.
i got the same issue with battery life.
too bad i broke mine 'cause i took it to the beach. let's just say that sand + gphone do not go well together ;) |
