Road Trip time. Anyone taken the drive up North (Bay Area) through Pacific Coast Highway? Its much longer and scenic than going through the 5 or 101. Me and my cuzzo are thinking about making a trip up North to San Francisco and other Bay Area Cities.
I heard Monterey Bay is a good stop on the way...anything else worth checking out on the way there?

its cool but man, be in store for some winding roads that will surely give you a terrible headache. I wanted out after 3 hours of it and you are pretty much stuck the whole way once you start. Its definitely one of those things to do before you die though.. :)

Even if 2 or 3 people will alternately drive?
I dont mind twists and turns, i'm Nigel Mansell.

did this once after an SF trip. the traffic was so bad we decided to check out monterrey. and spent the afternoon/early evening. Wasnt sure of what the 1 was like, but figured we already went down this far, lets keep it up until we get home...BIG MISTAKE!
Missed out on the sights and the winding roads took us quite a while. Do it during the day and altenate the drive and im sure its worthwhile.

i did this once.
it was pretty fun, until it started raining. then i was navigating 10 mph turns with a several hundred foot dropoff (no guardrail) in the pouring rain...

+1, Clint Eastwood has a pad there too. The 17 mile drive is wicked too.
Check out Hurst castle on the way. The indoor pool is just so pimp it hurts.
