A thread reminding people that while living with your friends is fun and party-rific, and while living with a roommate is nice because it cuts down on rent... sometimes living alone is GREAT
my roommate sucks because....
the kid is an aspiring entomologist (someone who studies insects) who shines a giant light in the backyard at all hours of the night, in order to recreate prime mating conditions, so that rare insects will on the side of my house so he can catch them.
I wake up in the morning and laid out on the kitchen table, WHERE I EAT, are dead bugs pinned to pieces of styrofoam for his collection.
there's a plastic tub in the hallway where he has 8 salamanders that he wants to breed and sell. He predicts 200 offspring.
A friend of mine came over and asked why my apartment smells like piss. Then he saw the salamander tub and laughed at me.
THERE ARE BUGS FLYING ALL AROUND MY APT AND IM FREAKING OUT.
So now, at just about 4am, I decided to pack all my up and move back in with my parents for the last week I'm in town before I move to DC. I just thank god I am living alone when I move there. |

I HATE BUGS... I think its time for you to get some of this....

Tell him to do his lil bug studies outside or in the garage. That's just gross! |

Well said, i know exactly what you mean. It was fun to have roommates, but I always wanted to live alone. It's your place and you can do what you want, when you want. You never get mad about messes that they leave around or the impromptu parties they through at 3am on tues night. The food in the fridge is always fresh (for the most part) and if it isnt, you can throw it away without them bitching!
I could go on for much longer, but I'll refrain. My new roommate is a bit more permanent, she's my fiance, so it looks like i'm stuck with a roomie for the rest of my life...haha. :) :) |
