WTF you need to buy tickets in order to go in to buy beer????

Ive been to a lot of beer festivals and this is a first.

hahah Jay
yeah you buy beer tickets and exchange them for sample of beers
Cro_Addict
yeah how does this work exactly.

You pay $45 to go in...and what does that get you? Any beers? Or you have to buy beers on top of that? If so, how much?

Advance tickets purchased online include 5 sample tokens ($1 value each), a commemorative sampling cup and a Festival Program. Tickets for the Thursday night's Beer Garden Gala include 5 sample tokens redeemable for beer (optional) and playing cards at five different beer/beverage booths, a chance to win a GRAND PRIZE (to be determined)as well as a commemorative sampling cup, and a Festival Program. 'Complimentary tickets' do not include sample tokens, but include a commemorative sampling cup and a Festival Program. Additional sample tokens can be purchased at the Festival for $1.00 a piece. One token may be redeemed for a 4oz pour. Some premium brands will require additional tokens. Lost or damaged commemorative sampling cups can be purchased at a cost of $20 each from the General Store.

it gives you quite a bit of beer tickets and the glass to taste them all. if you want to purchase more tickets they will cost you.

if they didn't do this, the place would be way too full and the people that really want to go would be waiting in line. it's just a way to reserve your spot.

awesome..thanks for the info you two :D

Good thing I got the tickets for free...WOOT! I'll try not to drink too much

As I recall from last year, some beer samples cost 2 or 3 beer tickets. The servers are much more generous near the end of the night though.

I had an amazing time last year even with all of the rain. I bought 4 tickets for the Saturday back in February or March but may not be using them...there is just way to much going on right now for me to deal with the kind of hang over this will cause.

May be selling mine but will be waiting another day or two until I decide.
musicsnob_NOT
actually just made the decision to skip this...I just have way too much going on.

I know I can sell the tickets on Craigslist for more than face value but would prefer to offer it up here.

I have 4 tickets $45 + service fees = $198.00

PM me if interested

They had a beer master for a hotel chain on CityTV this morning.

And I saw my Tiger beer featured on the table! :)

So much for only wanting to have a beer or two!

This kind of reminds me of our disastrous version of a "tailgate" party when the NFL was in town.

Sad

PS if line ups are that long that they have to charge like this... add capacity instead... you get more people and sell more ;)
