I can't think of anything that makes me more furious than lying and disrespect. Tom, you ought to be ashamed of yourself. The truth of the matter is that the girl was under 21 and had a fake ID. It's one thing to joke and fib, but it's another thing entirely when a lie is meant to defame, slander, or hurt someone's reputation. By saying that Tom, you're making it look as though either Mid-Atlantic or Love were at fault, when in fact the girl was doing something illegal.

I am truly sorry about that. We tried to help your friend out, but they are now under new management, which we found out that night

Ali, I understand you are defending yourself and Mid-Atlantic Trance. You may not have known that her ID was fake, but it was. Before you start blaming the management of a venue, you should make sure you have all the correct information.

I am not blaming the management for not letting her in, I know they are just doing there job, and abiding by the law. I Just want to let people know that the new management is cracking down on fake ID's, so if you got in with a fake ID before, it probably won't work this time.

The only thing I was kind of mad at, was we weren't notified that they were under new management until we got there, which I think is something you should mention to a promoter.

To be fair the new management seems to be very smart, and look like they know what they are doing, and hopefully they will fix love, and make it a better place. I am not sure what they have planned for love, but I hope it's for the best.

Sean talked to her today, and since we will be in Philly in two, weeks. We will reimburse her for her advance ticket.

I wish we could of done something, but things happen. I hope you guys found a place to enjoy the rest of the night.

If you were the guy that was outside helping us, you were very professional and really did try your best. We all really appreciated the help. Thank you for that. I'm not trying to slander Mid-Atlantic parties. I'm just upset that we had about 10 people vouching for us, most of them staff members, but the final decision comes from the new guy.

Fun party and good crowd -- though it was a little light at the start. Unfortunately, I had a flight to catch at 6:00am to return home to Atlanta, so I left pretty early (~1:30am). Did the club fill up later? My only other Love experience was at the Sean Tyas show, and it was packed.

(Note: In defense of Love management, the bouncer correctly verified my out-of-state ID. On the other hand, I am really old.)

I spoke to that new bouncer at the door, he seemed like a cool dude assuming you weren't trying to get over on him. He's just doing his job, and he has years of experience under his belt. He has been doing this for a while so you are gonna have to be really really good to fool him.

So from now on it looks like Love is playing it by the book. ID's checked thoroughly, more bouncers, tighter security inside, no more loitering on the corner steps, but even with all these new guidelines I still didn't see them harassing anyone or being rude, so as long as you stay cool...so will they. In instituting this they are just trying to make the place safer for everyone and minimize the amount of complaints they get from their neighbors.

One suggestion I have for Mid-Atlantic is to have a reduced guest list next time if possible. Many who RSVP'ed with me as maybe's ended up not making it, and their biggest complaints were that there was no reduced list and they didn't want to buy a ticket if they weren't absolutely sure they were going. They mentioned if there was a reduced list it would have increased the chances in their attendance. I don't mean to bust balls, but just passing the word along since I promised I would mention it.

I was thorougly impressed by all the DJ's who performed on Saturday.
I caught the very end of Tim Robert's set, then spent the next hour and a half jumping back and forth from the main room to the cave during Adam and JR's sets. Lira looks so adorable behind the decks and she spun some great tracks too. Ali Wilson is such a sweety pie. He is one of those people that you can instantly vibe with. Friendly is not even a strong enough word... I almost had to tell him to stop talking because we started getting into some great convo's before the interview even started so I'm like save that info for when we are recording heheh but it's all good we re-ran the info. Adam is very cool too. I caught the early part of his set but they I had to run and spin in the cave but I liked the part I was able to catch. I really wished there was a bigger turnout though....whoever missed it, really missed a stellar performance. He also premiered "Urban Shakedown 2010" which was awesome to hear on Loves sound system. I would see Ali spin again in a heartbeat! He didn't play all those same boring tracks that "everyone else" plays and he brought a fresh, energetic, and positive vibe to the dancefloor at Love. It's really a shame that more of you were not there to see it.

The other Ali lol... Mahmud closed out the main room and as always he played some wonderful tunes and his mixing was on point. To be honest a lot of the times when I am at Love and there is a closing DJ on after the main act it is very difficult to keep the energy going and I find myself leaving early but every time Ali spins I always end up staying till closing.

Last but definitely NOT least I want to thank all of my friends who showed up to support me. I was very comforting to look out into the crowd and see all of your smiling faces looking back at me. You sure know how to make a girl feel special <3 Love you!!

They aren't from CT (New Rochelle actually) but they were there for a B-day party and left to come see me, and then I felt obligated to go back to the party with them. I ended up getting there and spinning for another 4 hours because everyone else was too obliterated to do it lol

I left that place at 11am and didnt get to Queens till 1pm just to give you an idea of how far that was and that was by car driving at a minumum of 70MPH.

actually that sounds like a good idea. they'd be able to tell immediately if it was fake or not. given the amt of problems LOVE has faced in the past, the new mgmt may want to look into investing in that.
