CPU suddenly high

Hi
I recenly opened a cubase project and just had one z3ta open and started playing some chords with my midi keyboard. Something my pc has never had trouble with.
I noticed some digital drop out and looked at the cpu meter which when i play a big chord 4 keys or more is running at 100%
I have a
AMD Dual core 64 2.4ghz
4 gig DDR2 ram
Emu o4o4 PCI soundcard
And almost a terrabyte of free space
To my knowledge my pc is configured well it has always served me well in the past
any ideas? Could my cpu be on the way out? |

| just checked and nexus is fine cpu not even over 4 % so whats happened to my z3ta? |

Happened when i had zeta back in the day too.
it started eating like 50% of my cpu like wtf. |

| It's not the synth that eats up CPU (or not), it's what you're doing in it. You probably have a patch with a bunch of effects stacked up. |

| i've read about it causing problems like this in 64 bit windows. it doesn't have vst 2.4 drivers i believe |

Or a software malfunction.
Such as the Chords of Life preset. used to take like maybe 5% of cpu at the average quality and randomly started eating 20%+ on the lowest quality setting.
tis why i dont use Zeta anymore. |

Never had these problems before with z3ta.
What was the render quality?
Was the resonance above the blue line?
Actually, z3ta has slowed my pc down once, but that is because I put the wave shaper for all 6 oscilators on an automated x/y pad. [it caused z3ta to use 92% of my cpu..don't try it at home kids.] |

| it was on the ob-8 preset i think. But i used to have projects with several z3tas all automated and big patches but my cpu could cope. This is so strange i cant figure it out. |

| lol looks like a complete reinstall that way you can iron out all the bugs and find out whats ing things up. |
