truth. i don't think i could ever get sick of that track, but i like the original just as much.
sorry you couldn't make it, Kenny. :p he definitely did not disappoint. the venue was sweet too, total graffiti'd warehouse loft in Williamsburg where you could smoke inside and drink $3 PBRs and watch crazy chicks sucking 2 liter Diet Pepsi bottles like it was going out of style.
oh yeah, the CD. loving it. i have never disliked anything from Dixon though so i might be biased. |

| i don't want to start a new thread, but can ANYONE figure out the lyrics in Good Voodoo? i can't figure out if there's no pill to "cure" or "kill" this "need" or "heat" - and it makes sense either way but i just want to know for sure so i can stop feeling like i might be singing it wrong every time i hear the track. |

Eh, I wasn't as impressed with this as I thought I would be. I mean, it's good, but it doesn't really floor me or standout like everything else he puts out. It just feels so average. The high point of the CD, for me, was the mix from Hazel to Inferno Jack; on paper it seems Godawful, but he did a nice job of splicing it all up and making it work splendidly.
7/10, at best  |

Felt the same, nothing memorable but still enjoyable. Probably because we were familiar with most of the tunes already.
Introduced me to "Cortney Tidwell - Watusii (Daphni remix)" though, which floored me along with the 3-4 transitions/flow surrounding it.
You'd just expect more from Dixon I suppose. |

It's true that we had already heard most of the tunes, but we never heard them in they way Dixon edited/remixed them. |

Yeah, but just because it's all heavily edited and vastly different from what we'd normally hear doesn't immediately mean that it's great. It's a good CD. Nothing more, nothing less. I certainly wouldn't put it anywhere near my favorite for the year. |
