My bet is Jay is actually the opposite of his online personna in real life. Most people who aren't comfortable expressing who they are try to paint themselves in the opposite extreme to throw people off the scent. He's clearly ADD, pretty darn intelligent, and probably genuinely empathetic. He's also smart enough to know that if he were to express who he really was on a message board, he'd get torn apart, because these things are rife with insecure people (not everyone) who feel it's ok to attack anyone showing any sensitivity because "it's just the internets". It's just too bad he feels he has to hide what is probably a pretty cool & genuine personality. Jay, you remind me a lot of James from Stereo. I think I saw in the Stevie Wonder thread that you two know each other?
Not trying to blow your cover or anything... if anything I just hope some people may come to see you as more than just the snarky bastard you present yourself as here. Now go ahead & cut me down, I won't take it personally. |

The thing is, I have seen him state on MANY occasions that his online persona is actually much different than "real life Jay". It's not like he's keeping a big secret from anyone. So, I don't see what the big deal is.

this is true for me but in a slightly different way. i'm not as extreme in my differences as jay. i know it's lame to be how i am on here in person so i just do it on TA because it's a nice outlet and i think writing in diaries is gay lol i think if my friends who know me personally irl read some of the stuff i post on TA, they'd be like, "really? that's you?" |

Are you saying that you're not a double-lifer? I'm sure any of us that like to get a little crazy but have professional/respectable jobs have a little bit of that going on. ;) Making a few posts on the Internet is likely a drop in the bucket, comparatively. |
