Ahh, gotcha. That's a shame. Hopefully he can get his head out of his ass and just concentrate on playing quality football. |
doesn't help that as a youngster he was at chelsea, behind the big names, never really given much of a chance and obviously he got the ego of other players without having anything for it. Last season was his first 'good' season and he'll have to give a couple more of those to really arrive. He always showed potential at under21 level, but so did players like Jeffers |

| Zola's a good bet to get the best out of him. really impressed with what he did last year. great players don't always make great managers! |

 Just because we use british groundsmen & not your mexicans, doesn't make it a bad league. It's quite funny how I knew before I read your post what it would say. La Liga is good. Premier League also. but Serie A & Ligue 1 and others are beyond our championship in attendances and excitement. |

^ agreed. My fav's are the Premier League and La Liga for sure.
I just haven't been able to get into bundesliga, League 1 or Serie A |

| Aside from big fixtures, Serie A really is poor to watch imo (though I rate Juventus this year with a signing like Diego!), but I enjoy the bundesliga every now and then. It's incredibly high-scoring, all be it a result from lower quality defending. |

indeed. Serie A is soooooo boring now. It was way nicer back when Parma had chiesa, crespo, veron, cannavaro, sensini, buffon etc |

Since the scandal i've not paid much attention to serie a as it's been poor in quality, and they no longer show it on UK tv (altho some games are back on espn this year). I think it will take another 5 years for serie a to recover from what happened (if it ever does)..
My adivce is - give bundesliga a chance, some of the best games I watched came in the bundesliga last season and their league over the last 5 to 10 years has been the most unpredictable.
It's a great league and one which imo takes over from serie a as 3rd best league in europe..
For me in terms of quality and excitement - you can't beat la liga tho, and it's only going to be better and more interesting with the players that have been added to the league. Can't wait for it to start. |

^ well said. I have nothing against the German league, I just haven't had much opportunity to watch it. They have some great talent playing there for sure.
I should subscribe to Sport1 here in Amsterdam so that I get more footy on TV - especially from La Liga. |

It might take them a few years to recover, but having (if they ever do) as an option makes me smile a little bit. This league comes from a nation that has won 4 world cups. Where as the other two best leagues right now are a combined for 1 world cup.
So yes, I might agree with you that it will take a little time, but Italian football will come back to the level it was once, if not better. |

terrible logic to judge a league by, Uruguay must have some some solid clubs then?
Edit: I saw the Bolton-Sunderland match, what a save at the last minute of the newbie's shot! Ian, did you go? The kits didn't look that bad in real life:p |

I think you are missing my point and perhaps I was not as detailed in my respond. My point is that for a person to have an option for Seria A stating that they might never recover from this scandal is absurd. It's like saying that the Democrats might never recover from Clintons scandal.
I hope you can understand now. I know that you post on the political forum :tongue2
Anyways, great win for Sunderland. That's my new favorite EPL team as my fellow Albanian plays there :D |
