Downloaded and listened to this was on the way to and from work the other day...

Really solid mix. :)

This is really excellent mate. I definitely agree with the others, this mix shows marked improvement from your last one, which was pretty damn good in the first place. My only criticism is that I found some of the tracks a bit bland with too much of a loopy feel and not enough percussive variation (i.e the track at the 13 minute mark). This is probably just my spastic trance brain which can't comprehend subtlety though. :p

I thought the first track was delicious; so emotional and enveloping. I really liked the very last track too - that faint repeating acid noise was very hypnotic.

The mixing and flow were pretty much spon on. As with last time I noticed your bass line switches are very conditional; you seem to use a few different methods depending on what is most appropriate, and the mixing sounds very smooth as a result. I wish I could do this so well.

Also, based on your selections here, you should grab this compilation:

In particular, One Week In Cuba and Mon Ange are absolutely beautiful.

Thanks a lot for the listen and the comments, much appreciated. Like I said before, it feels great to know there's noticeable improvement with every mix I put out. :)

That first track is one of my favorite tracks of the year, I pitched it up like 6% to fit it into the mix since it's only an hour long and starting at 112 BPM wouldn't leave me much time to develop it the way I wanted to.

And yeah, that release is really good. Have been following Buzzin' Fly for a while now, and even though they have been lacking a bit for me in the past months, they have been a very solid label throughout.

Anyone else had a chance to listen? :p

Ok buddy Finally today I listened to your mix

I was goign to do a review for Jay's first but I saw "fast tongue" as the opening track and I gave this a go!

Dude beautifull way to start that track is awesome , just heard it yesterday when I saw the latest release of wolf+ lamb

The shawn reeves track is well blent into I just wish you would have given it a little bit more act on this mix because it is an amazing tune .

I think of all your mixes I like this one the most , I find it with a more defined sound , comparing it to your previous one, the mixing is superb Do you still use cds? this is perfect man!!

Maybe the only thing here that didn't surprise me compared to your other sets is the fact that i have 80% of the tracks here, most likely because we are on the same page ;)

The highlight of your mix is how well you kept the groove going for about 35 minutes none stop, it really drags you in it .

Way to go oscar this is your Best mix so Far IMHO

cheers mate :p

I think that this set proves that you do not have to be more underground than dubfire to come up with a fun and enjoyable set. The programming and mixing were very nice. In some of your next mixes i would love to hear you experiment a bit more with kills instead of always trying to blend. Sometimes killing and doing back and forth frequency switches can add a flavour and immediate energy to a set. During the mix in to HEADS you could have used this to dramatic effect to kick it into gear in a hurry:)

This was a very nice improvement to the last one in all departments. Even though i knew all of the tracks i only skipped good voodoo (you know why:p). Very very solid effort, for the next one i would say you should try and put a little emphasis on finding just 1 or 2 tracks for the set that people might not know as much. I am not talking about the whole set here, but imo when you make someone go wow i need to buy this awesome track i have never heard before, it adds a level that makes it a little more memorable. (i am not calling this forgettable at all here, i hope you understand what i mean).

Then again, who am i to talk i steal Tiesto's playlists.

good job O:)

Yeah, 'Fast Tongue' is one of my favorite tracks of the year. Such a gorgeous track. The problem with the Shaun Reeves tune is that it's too damn short (only 5 minutes), I really wish it was longer.

I think this is my best effort so far too :p

Thanks a lot Jay, I respect you a lot as a DJ so your opinion counts a lot ;)

I'm relatively new to the (good) Deep House and Tech House genres, so I'm still getting to know a bunch of artists and labels that put out the good stuff. I have to do another mix soon, and I think I do have some tracks that are not as known. :)

Regarding the killing and EQ switches, could you please elaborate a bit more? At which point in the mix into HEADS would you have used it?

Thanks!

P.S. I must have heard Good Voodoo like 200 times and I'm still not sick of it, LOL.

I've followed the whole Good Voodoo discussion and when Clovis was ranting about the wetness it's causing with women, I thought he was exaggerating. But while I was on vacation, I met this girl who's into the same music as I am, and while we were exploring my iPod I thought, hey, let's put on Good Voodoo, and from that point on, she was all over me. Well, not really, but she really liked the tune :p
