Suppose you have a track that you'd like to get signed on some major label. How do you go about sending your demo?
First, does email work? Will anyone reply to you, if you actually send an email to the address specified on one of those sites?
Second, is it OK if you promote your track yourself, say on YouTube, and suppose lots of people already have the track -- in this case, will a label still consider releasing it, despite people already having prior bootleg copies?
How did Lady GaGa, for instance, get noticed when she was just getting started? Was she promoting herself for free? |
