I just got a custom dual exhaust fabricated and installed on my car yesterday. I've been thinking about this for awhile and then all of a sudden in the past couple days I finally decided to just pay for it and do it haha.
I've always wanted dual exhaust on my car, but only the coupes come with it stock, the G35 sedans from 03' - 06' do not. You can get aftermarket kits that keep the two pipes together from the engine back, but they both come out on the same side, and it never looks or sounds right to me.
The problem with putting the dual exhaust on the G35 sedans is that on the right side of the underbody there is an evap canister. The underside of the car is completely flat, everything sits flush, so there's not really anywhere else you can put this thing without it protruding out into the ground. There's only been a few other sedans on forums i've seen who have done this conversion, and they put the evap in the truck lol. Totally illegal and stupid, and they reported that it started smelling like gas, well no wonder haha.
We mounted the evap under the car where it currently was, but moved it from horizonal, to verticle, and extended some hoses. Even with that though, we couldn't fit a muffler on the right hand side unless we moved it, so, we decided just to put pipes on either side, and there's just enough room for it on the right. The setup right now under the car has the y pipe going into a muffler under the car, and then two pipes going out from that to the back. We had to cut out part of the rear valence on the right side to make it match the left, but I think it looks perfect.
Overall I'm very happy with it.

Great work, it seems like every G35 Sedan owner I know can't lower their car after installing an exhaust. Maybe b/c of that EVAP system has to be adjust like yours ...

I'm pretty sure he dropped his car before the exhaust on Tein H-Techs
Dan it sounds dope!!

I ended up with an '05 Mazda3 GT hatch, bone stock. Probably just gonna leave it that way and find and old rota to toy around with when I get my house.

be very careful dude ... I've seen ppl being lazy on some little slopes and nailing their exhaust systems.
You planning on getting a body kit? IMO your G35 would look ultra sick.

Yeah I'm being mad careful with it on some weird looking slopes. The muffler is the thing that protrudes down a bit, so I have to watch that the most, but it's not too bad.
I don't plan to put a body kit, but I guess anything is possible. I just don't want to worry about screwing it up and stuff, as it will make the car even closer to the ground. I didn't do a big drop because I didn't want to worry about that too much, so me and body kits won't mix too well I don't think lol

Today - The Best Day for Cruisin’ – 09 05 09
My God today was prefect for driving! Amazing weather, sunny all day long and I drove with all the windows down, sunroof fully opened (normally on a sunny day, its way too hot and I have to close it up …) and of course blasting my drum and bass!
Started my day @ 11:00am and went to the supermarket. Once I was done, I broke down and did a quick car wash and hit the road again! Had to take care of a lot of sh*t and traveled all over southern Scarborough (which was a bit sketchy), northern Scarborough, Markham, Richmond Hill and North York. Basically I was driving from 11am – 10pm with a lot of stop off and etc.
So many nice cars on the road, every single one was detailed and shinning like a diamond. Everyone was smiling and giving props to each other at the lights. It’s really rare to see such good spirits on the road and honestly, it was my first time.
Saw three of my favorite cars on the road, and of course a few 5th gen Preludes which was enjoying the day as much as me. The first favorite car I saw a black GTR just resting at parking lot, the second one was heavy moded JDM Supra (left side driving) gunning it down road and the last, but not least … this perfect Honda Accord 2002 Coupe, which was moded inside-out to the max.
It’s was a super nice day indeed; but it’s kinda sad, since this weekend is the final weekend of the summer. Here are some pics of my Prelude near the end of journey.
Anyone else experiencing this vibe on the road today?

Yeah it was a great day for cruising. I think I wasted like half a tank of gas just going around the area. I probably reved the engined a lot more because I wanted to hear the exhaust but even so, that's a decent amount of gas lol.
Lots of people on the roads around here and lots of nice cars. We don't get too many crazy cars like you would closer to Toronto, but still some nice ones. I saw a 360 spider, and a new dodge viper, you don't normally see those types around here that much haha.
-CR Scorpio 18x8 wheels, falken 912 ( tires, have to get the 452s next summer)
-Eurolite fogs, rewired clear sidemarkers to indicators, LEDs all around.
-Magnum cross-drilled rotors and Hawk HPS ceramics all around
-lowered on Tein S-Tech springs, 2" front, 1.5" back, currently waiting on Koni Yellows, probably going to install after winter.
-Front and rear swaybar,AWR endlinks, and strut bar awaiting install (again prob after winter)
-CPE 90 wishbone engine mount, AWR front engine and tranny mount waiting install (lol I haven't had time to get to installing many of my parts)
-Cold air intake with CPE MAFci customizer
-Mazdaspeed catback (rebadged bosal)
-Bored and polished optimized throttle body
-Lightweight alternator pulley installed, lightweignt water pump, power steering, and crank pulley awaiting install.
Future plans: Dunno, its a daily driver, so for a while probably not much. After its paid off, and relegated to track duty, full strip down, engine rebuild with forged parts, and possibly turbo, but leaning towards supercharger.
