pops and clicks should really not be an issue if you keep your records clean and static free.
Also, many people in this thread keep going on about the records wearing out ? If you calibrate your needle and tonearm correctly then there's very little wear on a record - I've got tracks I've had since the mid 90's and caned them DJ'ing and they still sound great.
Frankly, over the same period, I've lost more music through drive failure than I have through damaged vinyl. Go figure. |
I have had a $30K+ record collection stolen from me. Imagine how that must feel.:( |

Ok you want to forget the vinyl thing and get personal. I'll move on then, but before I do.....
Discogs? I'm an engineer, not a producer or artist, and I work in the film industry (but there's no way I'm posting my IMDB here).
I'm pretty sure, you've paid your hard earned to watch films I've worked on, but you'll never know..... ;) |
relax sally, i just wanted to make the point that there are more ways than yours. All of my records play fine, and if they do not it is not because of a loonie on a tonearm, it is because i ed them up myself;) |

i've also had more bad batch vinyl than bad mp3 batch beatport mp3s. the only time i actually complained was for vinyl. Isolated cases it may be. |
Ummm You mean you had more bad MP3s than vinyl. :p
I won't believe for one second anyone who says they have more bad vinyls that MP3.
I do admit to having a few crap vinyls, and I don't mean skipping and scratches when I say bad. I mean bad mastering and sound quality.
Bad MP3 are soooo damn common for some reason, even tracks that are digital only releases are sometimes so that you can't use them in a mix. |
