i was listening to my vinyl copy of Erasure - Club yesterday. it features a track called Ship Of Fools (Orbital Southsea Isles Of Holy Beats Mix). the notes credit it to Alex Paterson (The Orb), not the Hartnoll brothers (Orbital).

The Orb seems to have made several remixes using the Orbital tag.

examples:

Sun Electric - O'locco (Orbital Therapy Part 4)
Delkom - Superjack (Orbital Infusion 2000)
Time Unlimited Men - Of Wadodem (Orbital)

anyone know why? both groups were pretty much active at the same time, both doing original productions and remixes. i've tried searching, but came up with nothing that would explain it.

The Orb made Orbital remixes until Orbital became popular.

This. The Orb stopped with that practice around 1991 when Dr. Alex became aware of Hartnoll brothers and their Orbital moniker.

I only resurrect this because I am listening to an Orbital set right now.

Was listening to the Orb yesterday. This year has been nothing but catching up on old music for me. Wish I had gotten the chance to catch either of them. If anyone has any live set recommendations please post.

I thoroughly enjoyed watching this on the tele. Be warned though, makes you want to go and stand in a field and drink cider
