One of Hooks pivotal releases that helped define the labels sound is back with four new remixes!
Originally released in 1996, Deniro’s Mind of Man became a pivotal release for Hook’s unique brand of no compromise trance. It was often quoted as the release that “Got Me in to the Hook Sound” and immediately became a firm favourite of many of the day’s major players. It gained a host of CD compilation licenses most notably appearing on one of Sasha and Digweeds early CD compilations. It also appeared on a Global Underground mix CD, a brand which became synonymous for its taste and influence.
2009 sees this Hook classic getting the remix treatment from the tracks original composer Chris Cowie using his X Cabs alias to put a new twist on the original. He’s joined by Nicholas Bennison, no stranger to the Hook label having recently released his first outing for Hook with his Deadweight Ep and also Jonathan Allyn, a newcomer to Hook but a name travelling fast up the Trance ranks.
The release will be available everywhere from August 19 2009
Bennison version is a real hammer, however from the samples it looks like also the rest of the package is more than worthy.

Didnt like the Bennison, Allyn or Cowie remix much, also think this is the worst of the Deniro tracks.

Bennison's sound decent in the beginning but I hate the breakdown. The Allyn is my favorite mix.

The Nicholas Bennison remix is frigging dark. I was skeptical going into it, sounded quite bland in the beginning, but it's starting to grow on me. That 303 synth stab gets kind of annoying. But I like where the song develops and delves really deep. Deep synths and nice kick.
