Need help on this squarish lead sound

Its the lead sound of First State - Sierra Nevada
Heard it a few months ago , but till today , Its magic still grabs me tightly...
Anyway .. Sample is here

Hm, could be a few ways... Subtracting way of some square / pwm mix, square dominating the mix ratio, lowpass filter OR bandpass filter in the mid-hi area, heavy on reverb and unison, standard lead ADHSR and possibly some glide..
I'm almost 100% you could get the desired result with FM here too, though I'm far from any expertise in the FM area, guess I'd try tweaking some of fm7/8' presets a bit, think I recall some leads from there that sound kinda similar.
Can't give you a 100% instruction though, 'dis be the most I can tell :) |
