i filed late too and got an IOU from the state :(
matures sometime in october but i dont know of any institution that is cashing them right now. you do however get a 4% interest rate... |

I'd say so for the time being. Always file early and online. Gets everything out of the way immediately. |

I have no real clue. You can go to irs.gov and also ftb.ca.gov and they both tell you where you can do the filings for free. I usually just pay the place I am doing it at online for the state return because I don't want to fill it out twice. |
