Mac OSX 10.6 Snow Leopard

Hello, my fellow mac users. A new update is being available in 8/28/09, which is in two days for mac osx. It allows 64Bit Support. Logic 9 doesn't support 64-bit until 3rd party software is compatible with 64-bit. So yeah, this new update enhances the entire mac which makes it more faster, reliable, and easy to use.

29$ bucks

Me. Looking forward to it and it seems interesting.

.....but it's gonna have to wait to wait until I can back my back completely up.

I am terrified of doing so as my mac has everything on it - every photo, very track, every sample, every piece of documentation of my professional life for the last two years.

I start sweating every time I even think about it :nervous:

I'll definitely buy it when it comes out, but it will be some time before I actually install the upgrade. I was on Tiger until a couple of months ago, and I expect to follow the same upgrade path with this version.

It will likely be some time until all 3rd party plugins I use are compatible, and I hesitate to install anything .0 until there have been some service releases. Your music workstation is not the place to be running cutting edge software if you have any interest in getting work done.

Getting a new Macbook Pro next month :D.

Good job I didn't get it last month!

i think u would get it anyway when there so short time.
i hope i do :nervous: bought mine in july.

so whats the point when logic doesnt support it?
will logic be unable to install? im not using any third party software btw, well i did buy some cheap VST stuff recently (FabFilter and some Nitro stuff) but aint depending on it at all. Will Reason and Ableton work on 64bit? I thought OSX was 64 bit from a long time ago as u can get 8GB RAM etc? ??? some weirdness going on here.

It never was true 64 bit. The OS could allocate 4 gigs to each app running a form of virtual layering. Logic can only handle 4 gigs of ram but some 3rd party apps ( VSL) as well as esx24 can allocate ram outside of logic.

As of yet, there is still no way for 1 app to use 32 gigs of ram.

The power line by my apartment was hit yesterday by a truck causing a huge surge zapping my laptop to death. Thankfully the information i had on it was the sorts my girlfriend wouldn't want to see.
