Really curious what Jonathan Davis' set will sound like. Big Korn fan but I had no idea he spins!

The hubby wants to go. His concern is that their new music is not what he likes. Any idea on what we can expect?

Its tough to describe what to expect. Their live shows are a fusion of trance, psy-trance, metal, and lately some electroy sounds. Their live shows are absolutely amazing.

Check out this vid to sort of get an idea of what they're about...

Thanks. He is Israeli and knows one of the guys so he is very familiar with how they were before compared to now, he likes their older better. They had another group before and he really liked their music too. He prefers psy-trance but I am not sure if he will be into the metal. For the record, I had no idea that his trance was called psy-trance until recently. I would just tell him to turn his Israeli crap down lolz.

lol. I'll say this...Psy-trance live is totally differet from psy trance being played in a car, or at home.

I saw Astral Projection (another huge psy trance act) at Avalon about 5 years ago, and was blown away by the experience. The crowd was a mix of clubbers, ravers, and hippy-ish people. Sound weird? It is! But in a good, completely different way. No gudios or douches to ruin the fun.

The 1st time I saw Infected Mushroom was at Webster Hall in summer of 07. I went there not knowing a single thing about them. Victor Dinaire opened and was playing such fast trance that I thought to myself, holy ! If he's playing this, what is IM going to play? The only thing that's left is happy hardcore! Eeek! I was not looking forward to that...

And THEN. Infected Mushroom came on and I was blown away. They opened with "Riders on the Storm." The 1st thing I thought was wow! A cross between trance and Metallica! It worked beautifully. Before I got lured into the edm world, I was primarily a metal fan. This was the most amazing combination for me. :)

He knows Astral Projection too. I saw Astral Projection at what Israeli's call a "nature party" since it is in the desert. Your description of the scene is exactly how it was but the people were clubbing hippy ravers, lol. It is just something I never got into, maybe this time will be different. The only thing drawing me to this is no guidos or douches. I guess my presence will be moral support for the hubby since I have dragged him to a load of DNB stuff.

A few people have asked me what the difference between regular and VIP admission is. VIP gets you access to the upper levels of the club...mezzanine etc. VIPs also get a signed poster of the band as an added bonus.

Having access to the upper levels is definitely cool, I feel like you can see so much better from there!
