I am trying switch my home phone and internet over to Bell (don't ask, long story). My problem is that I owe rogers about $1000 . They're being bitches and stating that I can't transfer my home phone number to bell until i pay them off. Yet, rogers is on the verge of canceling my services next week anyways. I don't have the full amount of money to pay them. can i wait for them to cancel my services and then transfer to bell? Bell also attempted to ask rogers for the number but they said no. Is there anything i can do? |

that would be easy. but the bell account is under my dads name and he wants the same number. plus he has no idea what my situation is with rogers and we've had our current phone number for like 16years. |

Under the law, telecom providers can block a number port if you have an outstanding balance. If they cancel your account, the number stays within their pool, as that is the reward for eating the money they lost on you.
If you want the number, pay up. |
