listen to that part what he said about compressing the music - play it a few times - try to see if you can understand it. |
He didn't understand it.
He was wrong.
Vinyl is a very lossy format. He just enjoys the sound of it. |

wtf are you talking about? Vinyl is a physical recording of sound, how the hell is it lossy?
Also, this video is old. I hope he's getting closer to selling it if he hasn't sold it yet. Goddamn government is too ing stupid to realize what he has. you, library of congress.
And I totally agree with what he says about vinyl vs. digital. It's just better. Too bad my turntable is broken :( |

Vinyl also has a smaller dynamic range than CDs. Not terribly important for dance music, of course, but worth considering with regard to classical or other acoustic genres. |

Wow, guess you learn something new every day. Still, I prefer the sound of vinyl for some reason. The first time I heard a record I was seriously surprised at the way it sounded. It was some beatles record, and I don't even like the beatles. |

I love vinyl as well and wish I could afford to buy TTs and records. But I think my reasons for liking vinyl are emotional (bigger medium, cool cover art, the ritual of putting it on, the historical association with DJing, and even the slight fuzziness of the playback) rather than technical. |

Again I'm going to reiterate I don't think he even knew about lossless compression formats like FLAC .ape OGG, etc when he was interviewed for this, otherwise he might have had a different opinion about digital music and digitizing his collection.
I was thinking the most likely cantidate, as far as corporations that you think would be interested would be google. |

He could have the world's largest vinyl collection if he just saved up his Matt Edwards precum. |
