I just flew back in from Oregon yesterday and it was a bit sad. Leaving all those trees and fresh air and flying into LAX past a huge fire cloud in the hills and a smog. The smoke from the fire was blowing the other way. I dont hate California, all the people that are so freaked about earthquakes and say they couldnt live here because of it, usually live where it freezes half the year, gets hurricanes, or tornado's and nasty humidity. Ill take 2 weeks of 100 degree weather and the rest 85 degrees. I was in the The Loma Prieta quake of 89'that it the Bay Area and it was ing scary. But it doesnt last long and you deal with it. There isnt an " earthquake season" like hurricanes, harsh winters. We all live on earth, it can happen anywhere.

Yea, Cali is lucky you don't have a "big one" predicted for the near future.

Between 9:00 PM and 10:00 PM, local time, on January 26th 1700, a great earthquake shook the Pacific Northwest. This quake, with magnitude estimated at 9.0, rocked the region with strong shaking for several long minutes minutes while coastal Washington plummeted as much as 1.5 meters relative to coastal waters.

Yea... They expect the whole Washington/Oregon coast to drop into the ocean a few meters which will cause a mega-tsunami that will reach all the way to Japan! :wtf:

Its basically a doomsday scenario for us... :(

SD is humid as all summer long. That is not nice imho. OC is usually much better. Slightly warmer but low humidity.
