A point to consider also- peoples' AC units are often the source of allergens and they don't realize it. If the system is old and/or hasn't been properly cleaned in a while... plus the cooling coil inside takes moisure out of the air, so naturally it's going to be wet and become a perfect place for mold to grow... and if it does, the system itself is a perfect transport mechanism to spread it around the house. You can make the house spotless and drive yourself crazy wondering why you're still feeling allergy type symptoms.

+1 i agree, yeah you really need to clean and sanitize your whole home. if that doesnt work then work on what you eat drop things out for a while, if no change bring it back in, and drop something else out.

i'm not allergic to any kind of material or medicine.. but ever since i've moved to the US i've had to take the allergy medicine every other day.

if i don't take it, i'm sneezing & my entire body gets itchy. even if i think to myself not to scratch my arm & don't scratch it- i look at it & it's all red without me even touching it.. so i'm always taking the walzyr or w/e it's called from Walgreens.. :(

zyrtec is great, esp if you get the generic Costco type. works just as well and doesnt cost nearly a dollar a pill.

freaking wet summer has driven the normal spring type allergies to now, and the CA fires are blowing straight into Denver which is not helping either|

the mold/fungus thing is a good idea. i always forget about that. and living in florida it's a strong possibility. i had an infection from mold in my last apartment because of a leak, it sucked.

i'll have my bf check the place for mold, he knows where to look for all that because of his line of work.

i'll grab a new AC filter too.

Since I got an AC unit in my room the air is really dry too, so my nose is like dry stuffed up!

Have you ever tried breath-right nasal strips? Your nose might not be stuffed up, it could just be a depressed septum. I thought my nose was stuffed up too, then I saw that commercial and tried breathing while pulling my nostrils open, holy the freedom...

That being said, I used to have severe seasonal allergies. But since working outside for the last 3 years, seem to have outgrown the worst of it. Now they only get set off if I scratch my eyes, or scratch an itch in my nose. If I can keep my hands off my eyes and nose, then all I have to deal with is the morning sniffles.

i'm fine outdoors though.

i dont get the whole itchy watery eyes or sneezing. it's all just mucus buildup/sinus crap...constantly having to blow my nose whether i'm inside or outside.

Do you have a cat?

Or maybe you just have TONS of dust floating in the air, you should get the Orek air purifier!
