Hey, Im currently working on a remix and i am lookin to get the vocals more glued into the rest of the tune,, what are the main things i should be doing to achieve this?

compress them slightly to all other sounds in the track before routing to the master bus?

add the same reverb to them as are on the lead synth behind the vocals?

if there are any popular tricks and you wish to share please let me know, thanks

you could try compressing it.

yep, gentle compression and carefull EQ to make room in the mix for the acapella. problem with a lot of acapellas, if its homemade then the vocals will already be processed/limited/comped and EQd and probably have large chunks missing out of the sqectrum already, even gentle compression can sound unnatural...

best way i've found to work with acapellas is to build the sounds around the vox rather than slotting vox into a track i've already done. i think that makes sense!?? as that way you pick the sounds that flow best with the vocals rather than having to eq away vocals or whatever.

it would make sense to use less reverb on the vocals, if you want them to appear more in the foreground and to let the lead sit behind them.
